Gentle facial peel

A gentle peel refreshes dull, uneven skin without the downtime of stronger procedures. The formula is chosen after seeing the skin and paired with clear aftercare.

Who is this treatment for?

  • Skin with uneven texture or spots
  • Greyish, dull-looking skin
  • Beauty treatments ahead of events or holidays

A gentle peel, controlled renewal of the skin's appearance

When people say peel, most women imagine red, flaking skin that means hiding at home for a week. That picture comes from deep, aggressive peels, and it is not what I do here.

The peel I perform works at a controlled intensity and helps remove dead cells that have built up on the surface of the skin. The goal is to refresh the texture and the look of the tone without deep peeling or a long recovery period.

In most cases you can return to your routine after the treatment and wear make-up the next day, depending on how the skin responds and on the instructions. That makes it possible to fit the peel into a consistent skincare routine without planning a long break around it.

What a peel does for the skin

Skin renews itself all the time, but that pace slows with age. Dead cells stay on the surface longer, and that is why skin looks greyish, tired and rough even when it is perfectly healthy.

A peel speeds up that process in a controlled way. Removing the layer of dead cells reveals more even, radiant skin, improves the texture to the touch, and lets the skincare products you use at home penetrate better instead of being absorbed by the dead layer above.

A peel also helps gradually lighten spots and unevenness of tone. Here it is important to say honestly that this is gradual improvement over a series, not the erasing of a spot in one treatment. Deep spots require patience and sometimes a combination with other treatments.

  • Greyish, tired skin that has lost its glow
  • Rough or uneven skin texture
  • Spots and unevenness of skin tone
  • Congested-looking skin and enlarged pores
  • Preparing the skin for an event
  • Anyone looking for a gentle option with limited downtime

Peels in summer, the honest answer

One of the questions I am asked most often is whether a peel can be done in summer. The answer is yes, on one condition: that the type and intensity of the peel are adapted to the season, and that you are strict about sun protection afterwards.

The reason the traditional answer was no is that a peel reveals new skin that is more sensitive to the sun, and in our coastal area exposure is strong. But the truth is that exposure here is significant in October and in March too, so the real rule is not to avoid peels in summer but to be strict about sun protection all year round.

In practice, I adapt the intensity of the treatment to the season and to your lifestyle. If you are planning a week at the beach straight afterwards, we postpone or soften it, and I tell you that in advance and not afterwards.

A peel before an event, timing is everything

A peel before a wedding, a bat mitzvah or a photo shoot is one of the most common reasons women come to me, and here timing matters no less than the treatment itself.

My rule is simple: do not try a new treatment for the first time immediately before an event. Even a gentle treatment can cause an unexpected response in skin that has not been exposed to it before. When possible, leave enough time to see how the skin responds before scheduling any final pre-event care.

If you come to me shortly before the event, I will choose a more conservative treatment and avoid ingredients the skin does not yet know. Close to an event, the stability of the skin matters more than the strength of the treatment.

How many treatments and how often

The number and spacing of treatments depend on the goal, the type of peel and the way the skin responds. A pre-event refresh calls for a different plan from ongoing care for spots or uneven texture.

If maintenance is useful, its frequency is agreed after the initial response is reviewed. Even gentle peels can cause temporary dryness or flaking, so downtime cannot be ruled out completely.

What happens between treatments also matters. A suitable home routine and daily sun protection help support the skin and reduce the chance of renewed darkening.

Facial treatments in Netanya, at my clinic

I have worked at 25 Yehuda Halevi Street in Netanya since 1991. That experience is more relevant to peels than it might seem: the difference between a treatment that leaves the skin glowing and one that irritates it is judgement about the type and strength of the product for the skin in front of me that day.

As an esthetician in Netanya I see many clients with years of coastal sun exposure, and that directly affects the type and intensity of peel I may recommend. Women also come to me from Herzliya, Kfar Saba, Ra'anana, Hod HaSharon and Hadera.

Treatments are by appointment only. To book or for a question beforehand, send a WhatsApp message and I will get back to you.

Frequently asked questions

Questions and answers about the treatment

Will there be peeling after the treatment?
The peels I perform are usually intended for gentle renewal without visible peeling, but the skin's response varies and there may be dryness, redness or slight flaking. In most cases you can return to your routine after the treatment, according to the instructions you receive.
Can a peel be done in summer?
Yes, provided the type and intensity of the peel are adapted to the season and you are strict about sun protection. In our coastal area exposure is significant almost all year, so the real rule is daily protection and not avoiding peels in the summer months.
Does a peel remove spots?
A peel helps gradually lighten spots and unevenness of tone over a series of treatments. This is gradual improvement and not erasure in one treatment. Deep spots require patience and sometimes a combination with other treatments. At the assessment we define a realistic expectation together.
How many treatments are needed?
There is no fixed number. The plan depends on whether the goal is a pre-event refresh, gradual care for spots or support for uneven texture, and it is adjusted after seeing how the skin responds.
When should a peel be done before an event?
Do not try a new treatment for the first time immediately before an event. Even a gentle peel can cause an unexpected response. Leave enough time to see how your skin reacts before scheduling any final pre-event care.

Nice to meet you

Lisa Vinokur, professional beauty therapist

I moved from Uruguay to Israel on my own at the age of 16, bringing with me determination, curiosity and a love of aesthetics that remains part of my work today.

I qualified as a beauty therapist in 1991 and have continued to study and update my professional knowledge ever since. Every appointment begins with listening and a careful look at the skin rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.

My studies in natural medicine help me consider skincare in a wider context. They do not replace medical diagnosis or treatment, and I refer clients to a doctor whenever that is the responsible choice.
