Why acne comes back even after it seems to be gone
Acne is not a one-off event but an ongoing skin condition. Behind it is a whole chain of factors: sebaceous glands producing more oil than needed, dead skin cells that do not shed at the right pace and block the opening of the follicle, bacteria that multiply in that blocked environment, and the body's inflammatory response, which creates the redness and tenderness you see and feel.
A treatment that focuses only on the visible spot treats the outward sign but not necessarily the factors that let new spots appear. That is why the skin can look clear after a single treatment and return to a similar state later on.
In the clinic I address several parts of that cycle over time: clearing suitable blockages, calming the skin, helping manage excess oil and supporting the skin's protective barrier. The plan is reviewed from visit to visit rather than treated as a one-off solution.
